Fire Glass

A: A fireplace or fire pit should have glass at least 1-2 inches deep. You can also have a base of lava rock or stones covered with a layer of glass for cost efficiency.

Embers and Vermiculite

A: It's easy! Just take the very thin wire out of the package, cut into small pieces with scissors and drop around the ember bed and at the bottom of the logs.
These replicate the look of of hot ashes, making your fireplace or fire feature more realistic looking.
Glowing Wool

A: One pack can cover 18/24” Gas log set or a typical 36” DV Fireplace. Spread Glowing Wool loosely over the burner floor and over the burner ports near glow logs.
Fire Log Sets

A: Yes, with DV gas fireplaces, linear fireplaces and fire pit. Always follow manufacturer’s instructions.

Fire Stones and Fiber Balls

A: Yes, firestones or fiber balls are great for DV gas Fireplaces, Linear Gas Fireplaces, Gas Inserts & Fire Pits. Use alone or add glass, twigs or other fire feature accessories.

A: Use fire glass or vermiculite as a base to properly insulate the burner. The stones/balls can be placed on top and rest in the flames like a decorative topping. The firepit should be fully functional with just the lava rock.

Refractory Panels

A: One box has 2 Panels. Typically covers 36” DV fireplace. Two orientations – vertical and horizontal. Architectural Panels are available in horizontal only. You may need more than 1 package for your fireplace.

A: The panels can be installed by a chimney/hearth dealer or you may install them yourself. It is vital that you measure the old panels to know how many sets you will need.
The panels can be cut with a box-cutter but must be exact size of old panels. The panels are fragile ceramic fiber and should be handled carefully. Always check manufacturer’s instructions.
